# SEND THEM YOUR BILL

10.2m households will be in fuel poverty by January. Someone on the state pension will have to spend 45% of it just to stay warm. THIS is a disgrace. We're calling on the government to take fast and meaningful action BEFORE the new PM is selected by making them aware of just how crippling this crisis will be.Until they do, let's send our energy bills to the politicians...

Should I stop paying my energy bills?

We don't recommend it. There are consequences to not paying your energy bills. These includes late fees, damage to your credit score and difficulty getting credit in the future. For all of the facts, see the guide in the Go Fund Yourself's Instagram highlights here so you can make your own choice.Instead we're directing our attention to the government. We know there’s a lot of anger at energy companies - but the company you get your energy from isn’t the one ripping you off. It’s the likes of Shell and BP who sell it to your energy retailer who sell it to you that are making billions. This is where we need to have conversations about windfall tax.Ultimately, it's on the government to help people through the winter and the existing support has been swallowed up by the latest projections.
